This fall the new galleries and sculpture garden of the Stieren Center for Exhibitions showcase a revelatory exhibition of the kinetic sculptures of George Rickey, the noted American artist who died six years ago at the age of 95. With over 50 indoor and outdoor works, the “George Rickey Kinetic Sculpture: A Retrospective” exhibition is one of the largest assemblages of the artist’s work in 30 years and is sure to leave a lasting impression. The exhibition featuring Rickey’s innovations will begin October 1, 2008 and go through January 11, 2009.
Museum Admission applies to Non-members ($13 for Adults, Students with I.D. $10, Seniors $10, Active military $10) and admission is Free for Members and Children 12 years and under. No charge for general museum admission on Thursdays from 4 to 9 pm and on the first Sunday of the month. Parking is free in the McNay Visitor Parking Lot. Museum Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 10 am – 4 pm; Thursday, 10 am – 9 pm; Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm; and Sunday, noon – 5 pm. The McNay is closed every Monday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
