If you are like me, you may have a hard time thinking of gift ideas for your friends and family. To try and help you out, I have created a list of 10 fitness gifts that you could give to the fitness buff in your family:

• A fitness or nutrition book. Dallas Cowboy Terrell Owens just came out with a new book that details his fitness routine. Visit www.blackvoices.com/blogs/2008/11/19/terrell-owens-fitness-book/ for details.

• A massage. If you know someone who works out regularly, this would be a great gift idea. A massage will help relax his or her muscles and allow him or her to enjoy the holidays.

• Golf balls from a driving range. Some of your friends or relatives may not like golf, but I am sure they enjoy participating in some sport. If they like golf, buy them a bucket of balls at the Blossom Golf Center. (They gave us a gift certificate to give away at our Toys for Tots boot camp, which is why I am giving them a plug here.)

If they don't like golf, do they like baseball? Buy them a batting cage session. Maybe they like running; buy them a pair of shoes, or a new stopwatch.

• A cooking lesson. If a friend or relative is a true fitness buff, then nutrition is very important. Buy him or her a cooking lesson. Visit www.yahoo.com and type in San Antonio cooking lessons and you'll find a variety of locations that offer these services.

• A sporting goods store gift card. A gift card may not seem like you put a lot of thought into it, but your fitness buff friend would really enjoy it. Any fitness guru would love to have a gift card to, say, Academy Sports and Outdoors or Dick's Sporting Goods.

• A day at a nearby state park. It is not expensive and it is a great way to spend a day with someone you enjoy. You'd be shocked at how hard it is work to climb trails at Enchanted Rock or Guadalupe River State Park.

• A magazine subscription. We all need something to read and there is nothing better to read about before going to bed than your favorite hobby.

• A month's supply of his or her favorite supplement. A multi-vitamin, fish oil and protein can start adding up in costs pretty quick. Send your friend or loved one a supply of his or her favorite supplement.

• The Nike Plus System connects to your iPod. It tracks the distance you run and allows you to sync songs up to certain parts of your run. For details, visit http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/?locale=en_us

• A Motivation Personal Training Fitness Boot Camp Gift Certificate. For details, visit www.sampt.com/fitness-boot-camp-in-san-antonio.html.
