By Frances Ann Mark Guest Contributor Editor’s Note: The following story was written as a journalism challenge in Laurie Cheeves’ fourth-grade class at Arlon Seay Elementary School. All the students submitted a story. Frances’ story was selected as one of the top three stories. Hylmar Karbach, my grandfather, is a doctor who has been sacrificing, working hard, and giving his time and effort to all citizens in New Braunfels. He has been doing this for 53 years and nothing will stop him! He says, “What keeps me going and inspires me so much is my father, Hylmar Karbach, Sr., who was a doctor, too.” I admire my grandfather so much; he does a lot for me, like driving to Spring Branch from New Braunfels just to pick me up from school. I admire him just like he admired his father. “My favorite thing is for people to regain their health and walk out of my office with a big smile on their faces,” he says with joy. I love my grandfather so much and he means a lot to me. He deserves to be recognized. |
