AUSTIN – A Boerne resident is among six people Gov. Rick Perry has appointed to the Texas Commission on the Arts for terms to expire Aug. 31, 2013. The commission encourages appreciation for fine arts in Texas and acts in an advisory capacity regarding the construction and remodeling of state buildings and works of art.

Susan Howard-Chrane of Boerne is an award-winning actress and Emmy and Golden Globe award nominee. She is being reappointed to the commission.

Howard-Chrane was born and raised in Texas. After attending the University of Texas for two years she moved to Los Angeles to further her acting career.

She is best known for her role as Donna Culver Krebbs on the soap opera Dallas. She was also Maggie Petrocelli on the television show Petrocelli. To Star Trek fans she is best known for her role as the first female Klingon, Howard-Chrane received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for her television roles.
