Event to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week Boerne - Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country will be joining more than 4,000 other Clubs across the country in celebrating National Boys & Girls Club Week March 25-31, 2007. This year, the club will be highlighting its summer program. The club has plans to expand the summer program from 50 members to 130 members this year. For a one-time membership fee of $10 and a weekly supply fee of $20, members will enjoy weekly field trips, sports, arts & crafts and other activities. Summer hours for the Club are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the program is available to elementary- and middle-school-age youth. The weeklong celebration will be followed by the Summer Fest, an event produced by the Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country. “The family-oriented summer event is a wonderful opportunity for Boerne residents to experience the diversity of program and benefits the club has to offer our youth” says Jessica Moore, unit director. Summer Fest will take place Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Main Plaza Park, 100 N. Maine St., Boerne. This festive celebration offers free admission to the general public. The event will feature a bungee run, super slide, joust, moon bounce for toddlers, moon bounce for adults and a obstacle course. In addition, an array of on-site vendors will display handmade goods and crafts, and there will be a country western show. The Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country has been an integral part of Boerne for more than two years.
