Christa Klaerner Special to the View “Christa is the most kind, patient, and helpful person I have ever known. She is a wonderful co-worker and phenomenal with the kids! Christa has a gentle heart and giving nature. Every child she comes in contact with knows that he/she is loved. Christa honestly cares for her kids. She is the ultimate team player. She is always willing to help out her colleagues. It’s great working with someone that has that ‘can and will do’ attitude.” This is how Christa Klaerner, a special education teacher at Cibolo Creek Elementary, is described by her fellow teachers. Klaerner graduated from Fredericksburg High School and received her BA from University of Texas at San Antonio. This is her second year teaching in Boerne ISD. She and her husband, Kyle, have been married eight months and currently live in Fredericksburg. She says, “I love spending time with my husband.” They are active members of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church of Fredericksburg. “Kids say the most amazing things,” observes Klaerner. While in class one day, she overheard several kindergarten students talking about going to heaven. “One little girl was telling several other students that when you go to heaven skinny, you can eat anything in heaven and never get fat, but if you were fat and go to heaven, you will stay fat. Children are young and innocent and tell you like it is. Children bring a smile to my face each and every day and they give me a reason for getting up every morning.” The person she most admires is her grandmother Omie. Omie exhibited tireless dedication to work and family, raising six children while earning her master’s degree in nursing. “Christa says, “Times were tough for her, and she overcame many rough times. I have always admired her and hope I will be a successful woman like her.” Klaerner continues, “What I would like people to know about me is that I have a huge heart and I am willing to help anyone. I am always up for a new challenge in both my personal life and in teaching. I care a great deal about the students I teach and want to give them the world; I will do anything to make them successful. I not only want to be known as a great teacher, but as the greatest teacher.” |
