Special to the Bulverde News Bexar Metropolitan Water District customers will elect four board members on Nov. 4, including the member who represents District 6 which includes Bulverde Hills, Oakland Estates and the Woods of Spring Branch subdivisions. Some 18 candidates have filed for that district seat, including the current represidentative Lesley Wenger. Altogether, four positions on the seven-member board are up for election. Voting is by BexarMet customers only. A hearing set for today could decide the fate of F. Gilbert Olivares, the current BexarMet general manager responsible for day-to-day operations of the utility. Olivares, currently under suspension, was told Aug. 25 that the board intended to dismiss him shortly after he was indicted on charges of sexual harassment and wiretapping. |
