Editor: I believe Pastor Philip Schroeder’s column, “The Bible Speaks Today,” published Sept. 4 in the Bulverde News and titled “Is Barack Obama the anti-Christ,” may not be totally accurate. I agree with his conclusion, but in my mind he has a couple mistakes in his reasoning. First, he says Obama is not Muslim. According to Obama’s book “Audacity of Hope,” he attended both Catholic and Muslim schools as a youth. Can we know what part of the training he received in his most formative years is truly in his heart? Do we know why he sat in a church with very questionable and often racist and hate-filled preaching for 20 years? Are Jeremiah Wright’s beliefs ingrained in Obama? Was joining that church a political move? In addition, Schroedeer says Obama has not denied Jesus Christ who taught that He is the only way to heaven. Obama believes that any religion will do as long as you live a moral life. Maybe I’m wrong, but in my mind, if you deny the teachings of Christ, you have denied Christ. Please don’t bother to accuse me of judging Obama. I am merely questioning the available information. Dave Schoellhorn Bulverde |
