As two American cycling teams race around France, did you realize that one of them shares a sponsor with our chamber, Garmin Chipotle? For two years now, Chipotle has sponsored our “Lunch and Learn” series by supplying their great food to all who attend. Garmin Chipotle used to be Slipstream, an American team that has a foolproof drug testing protocol which, unfortunately, is again part of the story for Le Tour de France. We offer a “thank you” to Chipotle for supporting a great American team as it races 2,175 miles around France in three weeks, proving that you can compete drug-free. We also give a big local “thank you” for the hundreds of burritos they have given to our “Lunch and Learn” so that we can offer it free to our members! Thanks also to Wayland Baptist University for the use of their space. This week we have another great sponsor, Hooligans, hosting our chamber “After Hours Mixer.” They have reworked their menu and have added some great new pizzas. Come and join us at 5:30 p.m. today. It isn’t too soon to RSVP for our Business 2 Business Networking Breakfast. As with last time, we have a fun new way to help make those connections and grow your business. Thanks to Gary Arnold with Integrated Peak Solutions for his great presentation at our last Lunch and Learn. If you were there, come out on Aug. 7 at 7:30 a.m. to practice what we learned. As always, Mr. Gatti’s is our location for this breakfast and remember we had to raise the price to $7 for members, $12 for non-members. RSVP by calling the chamber office or e-mailing admin@metrocomchamber. org. Be sure to check out the chamber Web site as it continues to evolve. Thanks again to Dione Poe, a student at Northeast Lakeview College, for her great work on this project! Pat O’Brien Chamber board chairman |
