Saturday A Converse Town Hall meeting to discuss the widening of Loop 1604 and the Kitty Hawk Road project is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. at the Eddie Kneupper Justice Center, 402 S. Seguin Road. The Cibolo Creek FFA chapter hosts its annual chapter Stock Show beginning at 9 a.m. at the Toby Connor Agriculture Complex. Show order will be pigs, lambs, goats and steers. Our show will include a baked goods and silent auction. Windcrest Animal Hospital offers low-cost vaccinations for dogs and cats from 9-11 a.m. at H-E-B, Perrin-Beitel Road and Thousand Oaks; and 12:30-2 p.m. at H-E-B, O’Connor and Nacogdoches roads. A computer show and super sale takes place 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Live Oak Civic Center, 8101 Pat Booker Road. Admission: $4 adults. An exotic bird and pet show is to be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at the Live Oak Civic Center. Admission: Adults $4, free for children age 6-under. Rolling Oaks Golf Center, Loop 1604 near Judson Road, will host a food drive and concert at 2 p.m. Local teenaged singers 2-U-Neek will perform. Admission is three non-perishable foods or $3. The food will benefit The Madonna Center. The event will include drawings and children’s activities. Sunday American Legion Auxiliary Unit 667 will serve its Second Sunday breakfast buffet from 8-11:30 a.m. at Post 667, 504 Bowie Drive in Universal City. Cost is $5, $2 for children under 12. Dec. 18 “Excuse Me, Your Attitude is Showing” is the name of a presentation set for 11:30 a.m. at Wayland Baptist University, 11550 I-35 North, part of the Randolph Metrocom Chamber of Commerce’s monthly “Lunch and Learn” series. ONGOING PROGRAMS The Schertz Public Library Bookstore Christmas Sale begins Saturday and runs until the library closes for Christmas season. The sale, being held at the library, 608 Schertz Parkway, features popular authors, Christmas books, Christmas craft books, children’s books, magazines, videos, DVDs, music CDs and audio books. Most books are priced by the inch: 50¢ an inch for hardcover books and 25¢ an inch for soft-cover books. Some newer editions are priced individually. Call: 619-1700.
