The Bulverde Senior Center has been awarded tickets for a benefit performance by the Spotlight Theater Arts Group Etc. board of directors.  The performance is “Defiance,” by John Patrick Shanley, and is set on a United States Marine Corps base in North Carolina in 1971.

Two Marine officers, one black and one white, are on a collision course over race, women and doing the right thing.  Shanley’s riveting new work is about power, love and responsibility.  BSC has received 110 tickets for the May l performance.  The price of the tickets are $16 and proceeds will benefit the senior center.  Please help us sell these tickets.

We need to give STAGE feedback by April 24 on how many we  have sold.  How can you help with this fundraiser?  See Glenna Croft, get tickets and sell, sell, sell.  We are most grateful to the STAGE board of directors for selecting the BSC for this honor.

The annual spring craft show is just around the corner on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Margie Loesch is the chairman of the event, and Nelda Martinez will be the food sales lady. Betty Conner will manage the rummage sale, and Sherry Keller will be in charge of the bake sale.  These fine ladies are doing a bang-up good job in planning, organizing and working toward making this event the best we have ever had.  Please sign up to bring your home made baked goods.  Also, you can start bringing in your rummage sale items and place them in the garage.

BSC could not survive without all the things volunteers do, but we must do a better job of logging volunteer hours.  Please, before you leave every day, stop and log your hours in the book on the front table.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, but with out all of us logging our hours, we do not have the information that BSC needs.

Last year, some of you turned in your hours at the end of the year, which did not add up to very many hours. It is critical for us to catch all of those hours.  Keep this in mind and remind each other.  Thanks for your help.

A special thank you to board members Cindy Stone and Doris Haecker who spend many hours researching insurance information for BSC.

Please remember to pay your 2008 BSC membership dues of $15. Also, all members need to complete a membership form to help us as we are updating our records.  See Mary at a table set up for this purpose.

Our deepest sympathy to  Ann and Doug Underwood and family on the death of Ann’s mother, Dorothy Mason.  She was such a sweet lady, and always had a smile for everyone.  We shall miss her.

There is a list on the bulletin board of the BSC members that are in need of our prayers.

Check the list often and keep these members in our hearts and on our prayer list.
