78249 Man arrested after his car catches bullets Oct. 7, 4 a.m. - 6500 block of Babcock Road. An officer responding to a shooting was told by a 29-year-old male driver of a white 2002 Chrysler 4D that his passenger had been shot. The passenger, being treated by Emergency Medical Services, told the officer that he had been passed out when the shooting happened. Bullet holes were found on the rear driver side door. The driver said he was on Interstate 10 at the time and thought he had a blow-out. Upon further investigation, a Glock 22 .40-caliber pistol, a baggie of marijuana and gold knuckles were found in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and booked on a marijuana possession charge and on a possession of prohibited knuckles charge. There are no suspects in the shooting. 78254 Church lawn equipment taken from shed Oct. 8, 5 a.m. - 9900 block of Leslie Road. Witness reports that a man was spotted at Zion Lutheran Church hiding behind a wooden pillar. The man didn’t respond immediately, but eventually asked the witness for water. Two Styrofoam cups of water were brought to the man, who drank them before leaving on foot. Upon further investigation, a shed the man was hovering near had been broken into, and lawn care equipment was missing, including two blowers, a weed wacker, a hedge trimmer and a circular saw. The equipment was found in an open field across the street, neatly placed into trash bags. 78250 Man’s debit card number stolen Oct. 9, 8 a.m. - 9400 block of Cliff Stone. A Wells Fargo online customer reported a $364.91 debit card purchase from Hot Topic that was not his. The bank advised him that his number may have been taken from his Ebay account. Hot Topic refused to give information about the purchaser. 78238Ice theft Oct. 14, 4 a.m. - 6400 block of NW Lop 410. A Shell station employee was mopping the floor when he heard a loud “banging” outside of the store. He went towards the door to find two suspects loading 10 bags of ice into an unknown vehicle. |
