By Don Bommer Contributing Writer Councilwoman Cindy Cross filed Feb. 13 for re-election to the Bulverde City Council, running for one of two seats to be filled. Councilwoman Robin Urbanovski’s seat on the council is also open on the May 12 election ballot. Cross has served the city in the past as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and was a leading player in the development of a Strategic Plan based on the city’s 2025 Comprehen-sive Plan. She has also been recently appointed to the committee responsible for choosing a firm to develop a Land Use and Transportation Plan, the first two phases of the Strategic Plan for the city. She is also active in the community and serves as treasurer of the Oak Village North Property Owners Association, board member of the Bulverde Community Center, member of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Chamber of Commerce, and volunteers for Run for the Hills 5K Walk/Run, the Village of Bulverde Jubilee and the Community Center Festival. Cross is director of finance and administration for Jet Aviation Engineering Ser-vices where she is responsible for accounting, office administration and information technology. As a member of the management team she assists in strategic planning and preparation of the annual budget. Cross earned a Bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1989 and became a CPA in 1990. March 12 is the last day to file for a place on the general election ballot. Also on the ballot will be the adoption of the proposed Home Rule Charter. |
