The city is moving forward with the Home Rule Charter requirements as follows: All registered voters in the city were mailed copies of the Home Rule Charter on Jan 16. A special public workshop on the Charter will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jan 22 at City Hall. A second special public workshop on the Charter will be held on Jan. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. These are the only two public meetings that will be conducted before the election so I encourage all residents to attend the meetings. *** There is an injured deer in Bulverde Hills that the Bulverde Police Department and Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife have investigated several times. Extending out the top of the deer’s head in the end of an arrow and extending from the jaw of the deer is the remainder of the arrow (completely through the deer’s head). I bring this situation up for two reasons. It would stand to reason that someone shot this deer while up in a blind or tree. I don’t know if this deer being injured was an accident or was done maliciously but please exercise extreme caution if you are shooting arrows. Second, deer are property of the state of Texas in which the Parks and Wildlife policy does not allow a deer be euthanized unless it is a danger to someone or is suffering as the result of the injury or legal hunting. The Game Warden has seen the deer and it appears to be more healthy now than during December which indicates that it is eating and drinking. |
