Shamu’s old enough to vote, but not old enough to drink.

SeaWorld San Antonio turns 20 next year, and the park already is celebrating, announcing Sea World gave away $500,000 in tickets to 5,000 San Antonio families drawn at random.

“We wanted to find an appropriate way to thank the residents of San Antonio for their support over the past 20 years,” said Dan Decker, executive vice-president and general manager at SeaWorld San Antonio.

“So we randomly selected 5,000 addresses in San Antonio to each receive two tickets to visit the park this year and help kick off our birthday celebration.”

Wildlife guru Jungle Jack Hanna will kick off the season March 1 with special shows and a sleepover.

The year continues with a visit from Dora the Explorer, a Texas-sized birthday party (April 10), the Viva La Music festival, a Christian rock concert, a visit from Pablo of Nickelodeon’s“Backyardigans”, Bud and Barbecue and a grand closure by three-time Emmy-nominated children’s hit group Hi5.
