A turkey round-up held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Security Service Federal Credit Union, 12707 Interstate 10 West, aims to collect thousands of turkeys for distribution by the San Antonio Food Bank. Donors may drop off frozen turkey donations as well as canned goods and other items. Enjoy an hour of kid-friendly interpretation and activities at the Government Canyon State Natural Area 11 a.m. noon and again from 2 to 3 p.m., rain or shine.  “Camp with a Ranger” lets campers join staff interpreter and former UT-Austin outdoor guide John Koepke on an overnight backpack trip into the heart of the Government Canyon backcountry.
