Burger King serves up scholarships |

Special to the Leon Valley Recorder The Burger King/McLamore Foundation on June 22 announced it has awarded 610 high school seniors $1,000 scholarships as part of the seventh annual Burger King® Scholars Program. This brings the total of scholarships awarded to more than $11 million, since the Foundation’s inception. Twenty-three high school seniors from San Antonio have received the $1,000 scholarship in recognition for academic achievement, along with other criteria to help offset the cost of attending college or a post-secondary vocational/ technical school. The scholarship recipients include Marshall High School students Lori Cortez and Alison Cortina. |
