Visitors to the University of the Incarnate Word’s 23rd annual Light the Way celebration stroll past a million twinkling lights illuminating the night sky. The lights will be lit every night at 6 p.m. through Jan. 6 to celebrate the Christmas season. The event began in 1985 when UIW President Dr. Louis Agnese, Jr., shared his vision to unite the community in the spirit of the holiday season. While he was going through the interview process for leadership of the school, the Sisters of Charity drove him through the lights displayed in the Windcrest neighborhood, and he envisioned the campus illuminated by festive lights.
