The new fountain at the McCullough Avenue roundabout is all lit up and the water flowing after the official grand opening Oct. 15. The fountain, which is comprised of 47,000 pounds of hand-carved travertine stone, stands 12 feet tall and 18 feet wide, and contains a bowl 18 inches deep. It is surrounded by lighted bollards fronting the traffic flow, which will also serve to protect the fountain from traffic. Construction began on the project Aug. 13. Photo by Mary Candee |
