Trinity track and field team earns three All-America slots PDF Print E-mail

The Trinity University Tigers earned three All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

On May 23, junior Emily Loeffler of San Antonio’s O’Connor High School finished third in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10 minutes, 28 seconds.

In competition May 24, junior Chris Baer, also a standout on the Tigers’ football team, registered a throw of 205 feet, 2 inches in the men’s javelin for a fifth-place finish.

First-year student-athlete Zach Brush came in sixth in the men’s 800 meters, clocking in at 1:52.59. He was the only first-year student, from any school in the competition. Baer and Brush became Trinity’s first Division III men’s All-Americans.

Junior Todd Wildman placed No. 13 in the men’s high jump at 6 feet, 4 inches. Wildman had a time of 14.82 seconds in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles.
