Looking for a different way to kick off Fiesta? Then hit the links with former Rey Feos at the first Consejo Golf Classic at the Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch April 16.

This fundraising golf tournament is sponsored by the El Consejo Real de Reyes Feos Anteriores, founded to support the future and reigning Rey Feos in raising scholarship money for under- privileged children in San Antonio. The Rey Feo program has raised more than $3 million in scholarships that have been awarded to more than 3,000 students.

The half-day tournament includes lunch, driving range warm-ups, greens fees, refreshments, prizes and an awards dinner reception.

The Golf Club of Texas offers a 7,022-yard, par 72 course and is the only Lee Trevino Signature Course in Texas. Various Fiesta royalty will also be playing in the tournament.

Registration and lunch are from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Prices range from $150 for a single golfer to $600 for a foursome. Sponsorships, prizes and goodie bag items are still being accepted. Call 241-6644 for more information.
