Special to the Southside Reporter The City’s Department of Community Initiatives will offer a free workshop to help homeowners who are delinquent in their mortgage payments learn about resources that can help them from losing their homes. The workshop will take place Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at AACOG’s Main Office, 8700 Tesoro Drive, suite 700. Free parking will be available and refreshments will also be served. From 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., an informational session entitled “Options to Keep Your Home” will provide participants the opportunity to hear from lenders about the various options homeowners have to prevent the foreclosure process. After the session, homeowners can meet one-on-one with their lender or a certified housing counselor to discuss their individual options. Foreclosures within Texas are starting to decline. However, compared to last year at this time, foreclosures are up approximately 40 percent, according to RexReport.com. For more information on the free workshop, call DCI’s HUD certified Housing Counseling Program at 207-5910. |
