“Number 23” (** 1/2) is an intriguing horror movie with Jim Carrey in a rare straight dramatic role. He plays an animal control officer who received a birthday present from his wife that makes him question his life and the fate he's likely to meet. The book's character seems to be patterned after him! A chiller that may seem familiar, but it is different from any other horror film of recent years. R
