Next weekend marks the 25th anniversary of the always-anticipated used book sale sponsored annually by Friends of the Boerne Public Library. Everyone is invited to experience the thrill of bargain hunting at Kendall County’s biggest book sale of the year. The event takes place in the new dance hall at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, off Highway 46 East. The sale is always free to the public. The huge sale of books, tapes, CDs, DVDs, records and magazines will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Fri., March 2; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat., March 3; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sun., March 4. On Sun., bags distributed by library volunteers can be stuffed to the brim for only $5. During the sale, special tables will be piled high with vintage books, Texana, signed first editions and other collectibles. Books will be grouped according to subject, such as hobbies, pets, travel, mysteries, romance, theology and cooking, among other topics. There will also be a “food court, as well as a children’s reading area. Prior to the sale, book donations may be dropped off at the Boerne Public Library, 210 N. Main, during business hours.
