Savannah Ashton Smith and Sgt. Blake Austin Thompson were united in marriage Dec. 30, 2006, at the Northside Church of Christ in Bloomington, Ill. The bride is the daughter of Mark and Bridget Smith of Bloomington. The groom is the son of Scott and Shelly Coy of Boerne.

Maid of honor was Brenda Haustein. Spc. Kian Odonohue was best man. Bridesmaids were Rachel Bates, Rachel Simmons, Meredith Thompson (sister-in-law of the groom) and Noel Thompson. Junior bridesmaid was Grace Mae Zemrowski. Groomsmen were Alan Hardesty, Jason Lee, Bernett Martin and Samuel Smith, brother of the bride. Junior groomsman was Sutton Smith, brother of the bride. Feather girl was Selah Abigail-Zhou Yang Smith, sister of the bride. Ringbearer was Henry Mason Thompson, nephew of the groom. Ushers were Spc. Tony Chan, Pfc. Elliot Jacobson and Jordan Kirk, cousin of the bride.

After a reception at Lakeside Country Club, the couple departed for a Western Caribbean cruise. They reside in Raeford, N.C.
