Loyd R. Shoemake
Loyd R. Shoemake, 79, of Boerne, passed away Feb. 21. Born in New Braunfels on Oct. 20, 1927, he was the son of C. E. and Ruby McDonald Shoemake. Serving in the U. S. Marines, he retired with the rank of captain. He also retired from AMOCO with 20 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Shoemake is survived by his sister, Virginia Chaney, of Boerne. Graveside services with military honors were Feb. 27 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with David B. Vaughan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Kendalia Public Library, 2610 FM 473, Kendalia, TX 78027.
