Harold E. Pergrem
Harold E. Pergrem, 87, of San Antonio, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25. Born in Wichita, Kansas, on Feb. 14, 1920, he was the son of George L. and Violet Piersol Pergrem. He was raised in the family home in Belle Plaine, Kansas. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater and retired from the U. S. Army Reserve with 35 years of service. Pergrem retired in 1990 after 40 years of service with the VA Administration with Audie Murphy VA Hospital, his last place of service. Preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Georgia Lou, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kleo Pergrem; daughter, Kay Pergrem; son, Trent Pergrem, and his wife, Dianne, of Alba, Texas; grandson, Matthew Pergrem; sister, Ada Dean Barner of Belle Plaine, Kansas; and brother, Bill Pergrem of Karnes City, Texas. Graveside Services with full military honors were Feb. 28 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, with Pastor Tom Lanier officiating.
