Kendall Elementary School will hold its seventh annual Renaissance Fair on Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the campus on Old San Antonio Road in Boerne. Children of all ages will delight in the games and prizes. Food and game tickets can be purchased for 50 cents each. Purchase of a wristband will entitle the bearer to unlimited games and chances to win prizes. The Hungry Horse Restaurant will cater. For adult interests, stroll through vendors selling their wares or purchase raffle tickets for $2 for a chance to win a Magnavox 37-inch LCD flat panel high-definition television, a stainless steel gas grill, Nintendo Wii gaming system, Kodak digital camera, iPod Shuffle, restaurant meals and more. Those who bid in the silent auction could walk away with a personally signed item from George Strait and the San Antonio Spurs. Other auction items include baskets of all types, a getaway resort package, golf packages, fine jewelry, local restaurant gift certificates and much more! (Major credit cards will be accepted at the auction.) The festivities will be in full force regardless of Texas weather. Kendall Elementary has plenty of indoor space. The Renaissance Fair is Kendall is the main source of income for the Kendall PTO. Children and adults alike come to enjoy this five-hour event that offers something for everyone: booths and games, food, entertainment by local performers, a raffle and silent auction with items galore. Each year the fair generates most of the money that enables the PTO to fund programs that enrich the basic academic curriculum of Kendall students and faculty. Renaissance Fair revenue has been used to help purchase equipment, fund teacher workshops and student field trips, and support the faculty and students. The Renaissance Fair is open to the public.
