NISD

Kirkham, Muir named new principals

Trustees approved the appointments of Sonya Kirkham, currently vice principal at Leon Springs Elementary School, as principal of Colonies North Elementary School. Kirkham replaces Maricia Gregory who was recently appointed principal of Aue Elementary School. In addition, Ben Muir was named principal of Galm Elementary School. Muir is currently the vice principal at Murnin Elementary School and replaces Mary Helen Cover, who was recently appointed principal of Driggers Elementary School. Aue and Driggers elementary schools open in summer 2007. Aue will serve students north and west of the Leon Springs area.

2008-2009 NISD school calendar approved
NISD trustees have approved the official school calendar for 2008-2009. It is posted on the NISD Web site at www.nisd.net as is the 2007-2008 calendar.



CHS

Clark voices raised to heights
Clark hosted the UIL Vocal Solo & Ensemble Contest on Friday, March 2. Clark had 34 solos and one ensemble entry.  Seventeen students received a rating of “excellent,” 15 students and the ensemble received a rating of “superior” and 12 students and the ensemble qualified to compete at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest at UT Austin over Memorial Day weekend.
