Each Northside ISD school nominated a Campus Educator of the Year and a First Year Educator of the Year. The 169 campus educators received their awards from Superintendent John Folks and the board of trustees. Each honoree received a certificate and a flower was a guest of honor at the superintendent’s reception which followed the stage ceremony.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the District Educators of the Year. In addition to receiving their official District awards, the first year awardees received checks for $250 and the veteran teachers and Trinity nominee each received $500 checks. Among the winners were:.

* Leon Springs Elementary First Year Educator of the Year - Melanie McCracken

* Leon Springs Elementary Campus Educator of the Year - Jenny Burkett

* Rawlinson Middle School First Year Educator of the Year Lauren Forestello

* Rawlinson Middle School Educator of the Year - Amber Gonzales 

* Clark High School First Year Educator of the Year - James Joseph

* Clark High School Educator of the Year - Kathleen Henckel.
