By Mike Reeder View Sports Writer The Boerne Greyhound Men’s Golf Team finished fourth among 28 teams competing at a recent tournament at the Brackenridge golf course. Four Boerne golfers shot in the 70s. Ian Evans and Sean Lyons paced the team with a pair of 75s. Taylor Meadows and Ethan Noel both finished with 79s. Billy Carroll came in at 87. “Ethan and Ian carded their lowest scores of the year,” Greyhound golf coach Bill Toland said. “Both Ian and Ethan had two birdies on the day.” Toland said Lyons did a great job battling back after saddling himself with a nine on the first hole. Lyons birdied three holes on the front nine and two on the back nine to finish just three over par. Boerne’s team score of 308 was just two strokes behind first place Kerrville Tivy and one back of third place Churchill. The Boerne women had been scheduled to play a tournament at Fredericksburg Monday before rain forced a cancellation. The tournament was rescheduled for an 8 a.m. Thursday shotgun start at the Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course.
