Recently, in the course of criticizing me in these pages(regarding Morgenthaler’s “picky” letter to the editor), someone referred to me as “an admirable man.” I would like to clarify the record. I am not an admirable man. I am consistently a curmudgeon and not infrequently a smarty-pants. My own dog bites me from time to time. Please disregard those who say otherwise.
