San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger granted the “Queens of the FUNiverse” a brief audience April 18 to help kick off Fiesta a little early. Medals were exchanged and smiles for the camera were quickly carried out. 

“Our mayor is a busy man, but took a few minutes to get a jump on Fiesta and have his day brightened by the ‘queens!’” said Jodie Wurzbach, lead Queen. “The Queens of FUN are goodwill ambassadors for San Antonio, whether traveling in the states or abroad.  We spread good cheer with our coordinating outfits ... tiaras, feather boas, flashing glasses, magic wands, glitzy jewelry and bright smiles! If you happen on a floating feather or two, you may have just missed a queen!”
