(Contributed Photos) Disappointed in the selection of stylishly cut maternity tees that are sometimes more “Girls Gone Wild” than “Mommy and Me,” and equally disinterested in wearing some boxy t-shirt reminiscent of her husband’s wardrobe, Shaelyn Werner launched the new Blessence Maternity(www.blessencematernity.com) collection, in anticipation of the birth of her seventh child, a baby girl to be named Blessence. “I saw tees that read ‘this isn’t the threesome my husband had in mind,’” Werner said. “But, raunchy wasn’t mixing well with morning sickness for me and I was more interested in getting the message of empowerment going early in my relationship with my daughter.”
Unsuccessful in finding hip maternity shirts that reflected uplifting and inspirational messages, Werner is filling this void in the marketplace with the development of Blessence’s line of fitted t-shirts for mother and baby featuring slogans such as “Baby Love,” “Beloved Baby,” “Simply Divine,” “Mommy & Me” and “Match Made in Heaven” for mommy and “Angel,” (wearing wings on the back), “Beloved Baby” and “Heavenly Sent” for child. Texas native Werner has captured the attention of celebrity parents, including “Desperate Housewives’” Marcia Cross, “Grey’s Anatomy’s” Chandra Wilson and other Hollywood moms including Tori Spelling, Tisha Campbell and Melina Kankaredes. Bloom Maternity, located at 555 East Basse Road, Suite 110, (www.bloommaternity.net) is currently the only local retailer to carry the Blessence line of maternity clothes. |
