Leon Springs Business Association meeting at Concept Therapy today

The Leon Springs Business Association holds its May mixer at 5:30 p.m. today at Concept Therapy, 25550 Boerne Stage Road. Vicki Mohr will give a presentation along with the organization’s chief executive officer on a technique for “reading people” to gain a better understanding of how to work with them.

Texas Heritage Bank welcomes new officers in Boerne 

Boerne – Texas Heritage Bank CEO Steve Mack recently announced new leadership for its Boerne office. Louis Ehlinger Jr. joins Texas Heritage as president of its Boerne banking office. Since 2004, Ehlinger has served as president of State Bank & Trust Co. in Beeville.

“Boerne and Texas Heritage Bank are setting the standard for life and business in the Texas Hill Country and beyond,” Ehlinger said. “I look forward to helping both continue their outstanding progress.”

“Louis brings the type of relationship focus that we take pride in at Texas Heritage,” said Mack. “His unique combination of experience and energy will serve our team members and customers well.”

Ehlinger’s 30-plus years of banking include lengthy stints in Texas banking institutions including the Alamo National Bank in San Antonio and the Medina Valley State Bank in Devine.

Ehlinger and his wife, Gail, have a daughter at Texas State and a daughter and son-in-law who reside in Kyle, south of Austin.

UT MBA grad hired as assistant VP and loan officer

Mack also welcomed Kevin Thompson to Texas Heritage Bank’s Boerne office earlier this year. Thompson recently completed a master’s degree in business administration UT’s McCombs School of Business in Austin.

“Kevin’s experiences in politics, government and business suit him well for a commercial lending role,” stated Mack. “He will be an asset to area businesses and professionals as they seek to expand and grow.”

While working on his MBA, Thompson served as chief of staff for Rep. Dan Branch of Dallas in the Texas House of Repre-sentatives. A 1999 graduate of Abilene Christian University’s Department of Communications, he has also served several technology companies in sales and marketing roles.

Thompson and his wife, Sarah, have two boys ages 3 and 1.

  Boerne Chamber seeks auction items for party: ‘Cheeseburgers in Paradise’

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is seeking items for its annual Big Party’s live and silent auctions.

Under the theme “Cheeseburgers in Paradise,” the event will be held June 21 and 22 in conjunction with the chamber’s annual Aubrey E. “Sandy” Sanderson Memorial Golf Tournament, which raises scholarship funds for a deserving Boerne area high school senior.

Auction items being sought include computer-related goods and services, audiovisual equipment and services, barbecue-related items, gardening equipment, spa and beauty packages, dining certificates, tickets to sports and entertainment events, clothing and jewelry, leather goods, Western furnishings and accessories, artwork, wine and food baskets, car rentals, golf packages, hunting and fishing equipment, savings bonds, Christmas items, and overnight stays at hotels or bed-and-breakfast inns.

Saathoff a top producer for Hermann Sons insurance

A Hermann Sons fraternal insurance agent from Leon Springs, Teresa Saathoff has been recognized as a top producer for the first quarter of 2007. Saathoff finished the quarter in second place statewide in the applications written category and the new premium income category. She finished in first place in Region III in the applications written category and in second place in the region in the new premium income category.

Saathoff is a member of Prinz Solms Hermann Sons Lodge No. 136.

KC Fair Association brings bucketful 
of marketing awards

At the recent Texas Association of Fairs and Events annual convention and trade show in Houston, the Kendall County Fair Association was presented six awards for its marketing campaign promoting the 2006 Kendall County Fair.

The KCFA, in competition with other events in the under-50,000-attendance category, took home first-place honors for best pin, badge or button; second place for best color newspaper ad and best program brochure and flyer; third place for best black-and-white newspaper ad, newspaper insert or supplement; and third place for best premium book.

The KCFA marketing materials were created by Penguin Suits Inc. of Boerne.

The third-place-winning newspaper supplement was created by the Hill Country View.
