BOERNE – Early voting is over, and your last chance to vote in the Boerne city election is Saturday. Voting will take place 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Fabra Elementary, 239 W. Johns Road. The city election will determine who will be our new mayor and who will fill two City Council positions.

This week is the last time you can view the Chamber’s April 12 candidate forum that features the candidates running for mayor and city council positions. The candidate forum is being broadcast on Channel 14 twice a day 6 to 7:15 a.m. and 6 to 7:15 p.m. today and Saturday in case you missed the forum and would like to hear the candidate’s position on a variety of issues.

Because Boerne uses a system of cumulative voting, each voter has two votes for City Council and can cast one for each of two candidates or two votes for one candidate.

You will have the opportunity to also cast your ballot for the quality of life bond propositions totaling $21.47 million for improvements which would be funded by issuing bonds.

Finally, don’t forget to go to your precinct’s polling place Saturday to vote for the one state Constitutional Amendment on the ballot that will allow the Legislature to correct a piece of legislation that failed to exempt senior adults property tax exemption in the last election.
