The Alamo Heights Lady Mules softball team’s postseason run came to an end Thursday with a tough loss at the hands of the New Braunfels Canyon Cougarettes. Spotting Canyon a 4-0 lead, the Mules made it close, before finally falling 6-4 in the one-game second-round playoff. The Mules nearly pulled it out in the seventh with two on and two out, but the game ended on a close play at first on Callie Caesar’s grounder. “What a wonderful season the girls had and we are proud of them,” said Alamo Heights Independent School District Athletic Director Gene Phillips. “Girls, you did great and thanks for representing us so well.” Heights ended their season with a 23-8 record and expect to return a strong squad next season.
