Philip Chen receives highest honor for career accomplishments Philip Chen, professor of electrical engineering at The University of Texas at San Antonio, has been named a fellow by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for his contributions to intelligent manufacturing systems design and integration.
The grade of Fellow, conferred by IEEE Board of Directors, is the organization’s most prestigious award and is reserved for less than one percent of its members that have exhibited an extraordinary record of accomplishments over their career. With more than 400,000 members in 175 countries, IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for the advancement of technology in numerous areas including aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications, biomedical engineering, electrical power and consumer electronics. “It’s a great honor to be recognized by peers in my research area and I’m grateful to those who nominated and recommended me for this award,” said Chen. |
