 Incarnate Word center fielder Allison Britt was voted all-region for the second straight year. Contributed photo Junior centerfielder Allison Britt, for the second year, has been named to the South Central All-Region softball team, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. This follows on the heels of Britt being voted to an at-large berth on the All-Heartland Conference team for 2007. A year ago, Britt was all-region as well as NFCA All-America second team. Batting leadoff for the Cardinals, she was among the top 10 in seven different Heartland statistical categories including being second in base on balls and first in stolen bases. She led the Cardinals in seven categories. Her final batting average was .327. Leading both the team and the conference with 32 stolen bases in 35 attempts, Britt established a new Incarnate Word career record with 103 thefts in her three years. In the classroom, Britt, the Marshall High School product, maintains a 3.28 grade point average while studying history. She is a member of the Heartland’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
