Possession of marijuana/providing alcohol to minors

April 20, 10:12 p.m., 100 block of Elizabeth: Five officers were dispatched to a residence for a welfare check on four separate reports. The officers saw several underage people standing in front of a house, and when police approached, they ran into the house next door’s backyard, jumping the fence and trying to run inside. Investigating further, a large group of minors were found to be drinking and numerous open containers of alcohol were found. An adult at the residence was put under arrest for providing alcohol to minors. All persons in the backyard were ordered to sit on the ground, and citations were written for 15 of the minors.

Going inside the house, evidence of drug usage was found, specifically a table covered in cellophane that had marijuana stems all over it, along with a digital scale that had white powdery residue on it.

Going to the second floor, a bag with a green leafy substance was found in plain view, and other items were found in various hiding spots. The officers took control of the marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia as evidence, and stood by the scene as three children of the adult arrested were picked up by a responsible adult. Police photographed all the evidence, which included 75 to 90 beers in various stages of consumption, alcoholic Jell-O shots, and two bottles of mostly consumed hard liquor.
