Trinity University’s Jenny Breuer has been elected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach of the Year.

Last week, Breuer was selected as the Division III South Region Women’s Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the second straight time.

Breuer, in her seventh season as the Tigers’ head track and field and cross country coach, led Trinity to the men’s and women’s SCAC Track and Field Championships last month at E.M. Stevens Stadium.

This marks the fourth time in the last five years Breuer has been named the league’s women’s coach of the year, each following a SCAC Championship.

She is the first coach in the SCAC era to win the award four times. Breuer has been named men’s coach of the year on two occasions.

Three of Breuer’s student-athletes (two women and one man) competed last week at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships at Oshkosh, Wisc.

Christyn Schumann, a 2006 Trinity graduate, won four NCAA Division III women’s high jump national championships during Breuer’s tenure.
