The Leon Springs Business Association meets 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Las Palapas, 23725 Interstate 10 West (on the access road off of Boerne Stage Road). The meeting is a happy-hour networking mixer with no speaker and no cover. All LSBA volunteers are encouraged to attend and bring a fellow Leon Springs business associate. Guests are welcome. A community awareness meeting on the progress of the Bergheim Volunteer Fire Department, which is to serve the eastern portion of Kendall County, will be held at 7 p.m. at the Kendall County Fairgrounds. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. The risks of fire, the importance of response times, the impact on insurance rates and a construction timeline will be covered. Architectural plans for the building will be shown along with artist renditions of the front of the building on Highway 46.The fire station will serve the communities of Pleasant Valley, Coveney, Bergheim, Kendall Woods Estates, Silver Hills, Meadow Springs Estates, Cordillera, North Barcroft Estates, Hold-em, Sage Oaks, Dresden Woods, Waterstone and their surrounding areas.

Boerne Market Days features dozens of vendors from all over Texas offering arts and crafts, antiques, collectibles, unusual items and plenty of food on Boerne’s Main Plaza. For more information call David Querbach at (830) 249-5530 or (210) 844-8193.

Second Saturday Wine and Art Walk features the galleries of Boerne hosting joint openings from 5 to 8 p.m. Come out and enjoy a glass of wine and the latest offerings on the Boerne art scene. Participating Galleries include: Arroyo Gallery, Bella Creo, Bill Zaner’s Art Hause, Carriage House Gallery of Artists, Garden Path Gallery, Highland House, Sandra Canavan Fine Art Gallery and Bear Moon Bakery.

“French Kiss,” a Cactus Pear Music Festival concert featuring works by the great composers from France, will be held at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Boerne, 205 James St. The event is paid for by funds from the Lende Foundation. Please make group reservations. Space is limited. All group reservations will be confirmed by e-mail. Group reservations are needed for parties of six or more. No reservations are necessary for groups of five or fewer.

The Boerne Area Historical Preservation is seeking old photos or documents pertaining to early Boerne History to copy and preserve. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. BAHPS members will be in the Library Research Room to copy any materials brought in. Soup du Jour, a musical, produced by Boerne Community Theatre, 907 E. Blanco.  Everyone wants Bailey’s Restaurants famous soup recipe, but Stewart Bailey’s father has taken it to the grave.  It’s up to Katharine Hawks, ace reporter, to go undercover and solve the mystery. July 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28 and 29, Aug. 2, 3, 4 and 5. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m.

The Friends Of Guadalupe River/Honey Creek Inc. host the second annual Honey Creek Homesteaders Homecoming at 6:30 p.m. at the Guadalupe River State Park amphitheater. Descendents of pioneers who settled, ranched, farmed and lived in the Guadalupe River/ Honey Creek region of Comal and Kendall Counties are invited to share stories and artifacts from the past. All are welcomed to talk and share or just listen to living history. Beverages will be provided. Guests are welcomed to bring along desserts for a pot-luck treat. Guadalupe River State Park is north of Highway 46 on Park Road 31. Those coming to share stories will be admitted into the park for free. If you have a Texas State Parks pass or were born before Sept. 1, 1930, admission to the park is also free. Otherwise, park admission is $6 per person at the gate. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets $13 to 15.
