If you were going to visit a town where you’d never been, or possibly even move to an area of the country with which you were basically unfamiliar, how would you prepare for your trip? How would you go about finding out about a town, its atmosphere and the quality of life there?

To make a determination about a town, 9.9 people out of 10 call, write or check out the Web site of the local Chamber of Commerce. From the chamber you can make some pretty clear and accurate conclusions that tell you all about the town in question.

The Chamber of Commerce reflects the caliber of business in the community in which it operates.

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is the face of Boerne for the thousands of people every month who call, write or click on our Web site, promoting the quality of life here and convincing people who inquire about Boerne just how special our town is. Boerne is the place to be for families and businesses that need inspired community leadership, motivational educators, top quality physicians and medical services, honest and trustworthy businessmen and women, responsible and competent builders and contractors, reliable and friendly service providers, innovative restaurants and shops, enthusiastic and caring non-profits that do real work for real people, and decent, hardworking families who support local schools, local businesses and local charities that makes Boerne what it is. A wonderful place to live and work.

When you want to see the caliber of businesses in Boerne, the businesses that help Boerne maintain a high quality of life; look for the 2007 Chamber of Commerce membership decal in windows and on cars; find members at boerne.com on the Internet, and in the Official Guide to Boerne. The men and women who own these businesses have invested in supporting Boerne’s economy by investing in their Chamber of Commerce. Do you sell your products or services in the Boerne trade area? If so, you should be interested in supporting Boerne’s economy by investing in the one organization that has the best interest of the entire business community as its only focus.

This three-part series of articles began immediately following the 2007 membership event held at the end of July when more than 260 friends and businesses said yes to volunteers and became new members of your Chamber of Commerce. We are so proud of the outstanding volunteers who sponsored the new members who helped the Boerne Chamber grow to over 1,000 members.

On Sept. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m., we invite you to meet these new members and awesome sponsors at an event we are calling Prime Time. We’ll tell you more about it in the weeks ahead – just mark your calendar for an event you won’t want to miss!

It’s a chamber thing!
