A Farmers Market will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, 24135 W. Interstate 10, in the parking lot on the westbound access road at Boerne Stage Road. Saturday, Aug. 18

A farmers’ market is featured 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. each Saturday at the River Rock Café courtyard, 30260 Saratoga, off of Keeneland and Ralph Fair Road in Fair Oaks Ranch.

The Boerne Turn Verein, a bowling alley and social club at 221 E. Theissen St., celebrates its 101st year by hosting its annual barbecue and meeting. Doors open at noon. Brisket, chicken, potato salad, pinto beans will be served at 5 p.m. Adult plates are $6. Kids’ plates are $4. Plates will also be available “to go.” The annual meeting of the membership begins at 8 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 25

The Back to School Bash, which will give away school supplies to families who cannot afford the cost, will be held at Leon Springs Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A barbecue and live music will be featured as well as a water slide and games for the children.

Cibolo Songs and Stories features Nobuko, a band playing extraordinary classic jazz at the Cibolo Nature Center,  off of Highway 46 and City Park Road in Boerne. For more information, call (830) 249-4616.

Friday, Aug. 31

The Kendall County Fair runs throughout the weekend and includes a queen's contest, rodeo, live entertainment all weekend, a carnival, food and drinks, and much more. It’s al at the Kendall County Fairgrounds on Highway 46 just east of the Boerne city limits.

Saturday, Sept. 1

Sunday, Sept. 2

Boerne Market Days features dozens of vendors from all over Texas, arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, unusual items, and great food – all assembled on Boerne’s Main Plaza. For information call (830) 249-5530 or (210) 844-8193.

On Second Saturdays, the galleries of Boerne host joint openings from 5 to 8 p.m. Come out and enjoy a glass of wine and the latest offerings on the Boerne Art Scene. Catch the trolley at one of the galleries or at Holiday Inn Express or Ye Kendall Inn.  Participating galleries include Smilovici’s, Arroyo Gallery, Bella Creo, Bill Zaner’s Art Hause, Carriage House Gallery of Artists, Garden Path Gallery, Highland House, Sandra Canavan Fine Art Gallery and Bear Moon Bakery.

Saturday, Sept. 15

Fotoseptiembre – “Residue of Conflict: Laos,” an exhibit of photographs of “the most bombed country in world history, will be featured at an opening reception 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Cibolo Nature Center, off of Highway 46 and City Park Road in Boerne. Cibolo Songs and Stories features One Minute To Midnight. Hit the dance floor with varied styles of music from Cole to soul, Sting to swing, at 7:30 p.m.at the Cibolo Nature Center, , off of Highway 46 and City Park Road in Boerne. For more information, call (830) 249-4616.

Sunday, Sept. 23

A Kaffee Klatch is hosted 3 to 5 p.m. by the Boerne Area Historical Preservation Society at the Kuhlman-King House. Tours of the complex will be available.
