Jack beckwith named to appraisers committee

BOERNE – Accredited Senior Appraiser Jack Beckwith has been named secretary of the Machinery and Technical Specialties Committee of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He is the president of the Equipment Appraisal Group Inc., located in Boerne.

The American Society of Appraisers, representing more than 5,000 appraisers, is the only professional society that accredits appraisers in all six disciplines, including personal property, gems and jewelry, business valuation, real property, machinery and technical specialties, and appraisal review and management.

To achieve Accredited Senior Appraiser status, a candidate undergoes rigorous study and training. Requirements include having five years or roughly 10,000 hours of appraisal experience. Additionally candidates must possess a college degree or equivalent, must have completed ASA’s four-level Principles of Valuation course series, must pass intensive written examinations, and must successfully complete two appraisal reports for thorough review and approval by a committee of accredited peers.
