Paula White Paula White Boerne COCTo build on a foundation of partnership and assure Boerne's continued success, the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is hosting a transportation luncheon, “Stuck in Traffic,” on Oct. 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Boerne Convention & Community Center (reservations required). "The focus of the transportation luncheon will be to lay the groundwork to determine our collective vision for transportation in Boerne: how can transportation serve Boerne's economy; how can it improve our quality of life; and how can it help protect our environment," said Chad Upham, GBCC board chairman. "We can then collectively decide what needs to happen to begin making the vision a reality." You are invited to help the chamber’s governmental affairs council create a vision and a set of action plans for the future of transportation in Boerne. After the luncheon, a more in-depth transportation forum will be conducted to advance the new vision. One keynote speaker is Michael Meek, president and CEO of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and the executive director of the Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation. Meek was a leader and key player in New Braunfels own transportation plan and he will provide useful insights into the opportunities and pitfalls that lie ahead. Jeremy Martin, vice president of the Austin Chamber of Commerce Government Relations Council, will also make a presentation concerning his experience with Austin’s transportation issues. If you are interested in understanding the issues involved in creating a transportation plan, call the chamber at (830) 249-8000 today to make your reservation for this important meeting. Members pay $20, and potential members pay $30 for the luncheon catered by Fresh Horizons Creative Catering. |
