Guide Dogs of Texas sponsors its annual benefit golf tournament at 1 p.m. at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. The fee is $150. Call 366-4081 for details.

The Grey Forest Farmers Market will be held 3-7 p.m. at 18249 Sherwood Trail, Grey Forest. Seasonal produce, artisan cheese, grass-fed beef, Amish eggs, organic products, jams, jellies and fresh flowers will be offered. For more details, call 695-9184.

Saturday

Students for the Second Amendment and the Collegiate Firearms Instructor Program will sponsor the Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Shooting Complex at 5931 Roft Road in Northwest San Antonio. Attendees are asked to enter the complex from Gass Road. The event is open to the public.

Monday

UTSA Men’s and Women’s basketball programs are holding their annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. at the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $150 and all proceeds will go to scholarships for student athletes. Each player will receive a lunch box. El Chaparral Restaurant is the sponsor for the event and will provide the awards dinner. There will be a silent auction. Sept. 25

Casa Helotes Senior Center in Helotes is holding a fundraiser called The Taste of Old Town, from 6 to 9 p.m. Three restaurants are participating: El Chaparral, Floore Country Store, and Old Town Grill and Bistro. One ticket entitles the bearer to food at all three places plus door prizes. All proceeds go to Casa Helotes. Tickets are available at Casa Helotes, 695-8510. Some of the prizes are: two round trip tickets anywhere Southwest Airlines flies, a Remington 270 hunting rifle, a 2.27 K blue topaz pendant and gift certificates. Floore’s will have music by Buster Jiggs country band from Hondo. Casa Helotes provides a bright, clean, cheerful and safe place for area seniors to enjoy.

Sept. 27

Regal Cinemas Cans Film Festival will benefit the San Antonio Food Bank. A free movie and junior-size popcorn treat will be given to anyone who donates $3 or three nonperishable food items. The most needed items are peanut butter, cereal, tuna, rice, beans, pasta, canned meats, full meals in a can, and “pop top” food items. Participating theaters on the Northwest Side include Cielo Vista 18 on Loop 410 between Ingram and Culebra and Fiesta 16, behind H-E-B at De Zavala and Interstate 10. The offer is good for all movie times all day long except “no pass” attractions. Call 337-3663 for details.
