Duke
Duke is a sweet pup and he is looking for a family to share his life with. A medium-sized Manchester terrier mix, Duke and his sister, Daisy, came into the Bulverde Area Humane Society as brand new puppies. They were so attached to each other that our volunteers kept them together for a while. Once they got a little older, they were separated and Daisy was adopted quickly.

Duke was all alone then. Maybe because Duke is more reserved and will usually run into the shelter of his kennel whenever someone walks by him. But once he is on a leash and out walking around, he is such a wonderful guy. He takes in the sunshine like it is his first time outside. Every flower needs sniffing and every inch of ground needs to walked over and checked out.

We know that once a family takes the time to get to know him, they will discover what a perfect gentleman he really is. He has known no other home than the Bulverde Area Humane Society and we hope and pray Duke will find his forever family soon – one that will give him the love and the patience he so desperately wants and needs.

Duke would make a great only pet because he is so shy. The family that offers him a chance at a real family will receive free obedience lessons to help him adjust to life outside the shelter.

You can come out to BAHS and visit Duke on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. or you can call (830) 980-2247 or you can e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
