The Cibolo City Council is looking to replace one of its own.

The city has accepted Chad Royal’s resignation from the Place 1 seat, a move attributed to a job transfer. Royal has worked in the consumer package goods industry for 13 years.

He served on Cibolo’s capital improvements plan oversight committee, the impact fee and the charter review committees before being appointed to council earlier in February to replace Gabriel Castro. In May Royal ran unopposed for a one-year term in Place 1.

Any qualified resident wishing to fill the council vacancy now has until noon Tuesday to submit a letter of interest to City Secretary Peggy Cimics.

Council is scheduled to decide on Royal’s replacement Oct. 9.

To be eligible for a Cibolo City Council position, a candidate must: be at least age 21; be a qualified local voter; have lived within city limits or recently annexed land for at least 12 months prior to the appointment date; and not be a city employee.

For details, contact Cimics at 658-9900, ext 107, or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
