 Darrell Richards Special to the Southside Reporter Friends and family of Darrell Richards are holding a benefit fish fry lunch and dinner on Oct. 6 at Walk the Line, located at 12930 U.S. Highway 181 (near Calaveras Lake). The fish fry will be from 11 am to 6 pm. The cost is $6 per plate, and includes fish, fries, coleslaw, bread and tea. Plates can also be purchased to go. Tickets are available now. Donations for the plate sale, raffle, silent and live auctions, and bake sale, are also being accepted. A bank account at Wells Fargo Bank has been set up at Benefit Account for Darrell L Richards. Richards is a 1976 graduate of McCollum High School. He was originally diagnosed with cancer in 1998. He had surgery and chemotherapy and had been cancer free. In July, Richards was diagnosed with advanced metastatic cancer. He is currently enduring extensive chemotherapy treatments and due to the severity of his cancer, has been advised by his doctors he will never be able to return to work. Donations will be used to pay for Richardl’s medical expenses, living needs and help make his living conditions.
